Grateful, but frustrated.
Let me start off by saying that I’m not trying to be ungrateful, I’m just frustrated.
My mom went shopping for my son today with the info the he needs warm clothes (long sleeve shirts/sweatpants) in size 18m (his current size) and a coat in the same size, since we already have plenty of warm clothes in size 24m from my nephew. He has a few warm outfits in his current size, so this was just a “what can I buy him” trip to fill out his winter wardrobe.
She didn’t get anything in 18m. It’s all 2T, which won’t fit until summer with his growth rate. I even handed her a couple things in his size and she put them back to get him 2T.
I do not understand her obsession with trying to buy way ahead of his needs. He’s got short legs and he’s lean, so a 24m top is fine (if a little long) but 24m pants are too long and too big around the waist; 2T is WAY too big. I now have to pack up my grumpy toddler, my big pregnant self, and all these clothes to go BACK to Walmart at 6pm and exchange everything. I had other things to do this evening, like clean my very neglected apartment, make dinner, and do the laundry that I’ve been avoiding for about 4 days.
