What do your docs say about cold medicine?

I probably won’t go and get anything today anyway unless I get even more miserable, cause it’s snowing and under 30 degrees. But my sheet the doctor gave me says I can take Sudafed for congestion and robitussin for cough but there isn’t just an all in one cold medicine listed (nor is there a category for “cold/flu”). But I feel awful. I got a cold in the first few weeks of pregnancy and I didn’t take anything at all, so I know I’ll survive regardless lol but if it’s safe to take like, Tylenol cold and flu, that would be super helpful

I was told I can take robitussin and regular sudaphed (not PE).

You can’t take Tylenol cold and flu because it has phenylephrine in it.  That drug is not approved to take during pregnancy.  They don’t want you taking combined symptom relief because not all the drugs are approved.  I have a cold too and I just suffer during the day and take Benadryl and put Vick’s on my chest at night.  I’ve been getting ok sleep that way.

Don't be afraid to talk to the pharmacist either. They are just as of not more knowledgeable on medications with conditions  like pregnancy and will have heard your question 1000x before. 😊
