Baby cries more when mom holds her

Rachel

My baby will be 5 weeks old in 2 days and my best friend came from out of state to stay for a few days to visit. My baby gets colicky around midnight until about 3am just cluster feeding and nothing seems to soothe her. Tonight my friend told me to get some sleep and she would stay up and watch her. I didn’t hear a peep the whole time I was sleeping (I wake up at every little noise she makes). I’m not sure if it’s my PPD or the sleep depreciation but I was heartbroken. Why is my baby so quiet and content when my friend has her but when she’s with me she’s crying and colicky?

I’m happy that my friend has taken such good care of her but is it possible for a baby to have less of a bond with the mother?

I’m with my baby 24/7 so I just thought I would be her #1 person.
