The pills are black bc they are suppose to be black.....
Your doctor wouldn’t prescribe you something that wasn’t safe. 
Why do people go to doctors and ask advice or ask for something then when they get it they don’t want to listen? Not trying to be ugly but that is why you just paid a pretty penny to go see your doctor and for that prescription. Take the medication.

Prescriptions are going to have better quality ingredients than an over the counter. My doctor made me switch to prescription prenatals because over the counter didn’t have enough iron. 
IF THEY WERENT SAFE YOUR DOCTOR WOULD BIT GIVE THEM TO YOU. THEY HAVE TO BE APPROVED BY THE FDA

Most prescriptions have what the pill looks like written on the packaging. I take the prenatal my doctor prescribes. Partly because they’re free and partly because I trust her judgement over a vitamin company.

I take this one, it’s dark purple and totally normally.  Beware it does change the color of your 💩.  My doctor prescribed these because my other over the counters were making me sick and didn’t have enough folic acid in them.
