Turning the baby?

I was discussing things with my OB about delivery and how I hoped to avoid a c section and he suggested “we can always try to turn the baby.” and idk why but I thought that was something dangerous, idk maybe I’m being silly but it made me curious if any of you have done it and what was your experience? What’s your opinions on it?? TIA

It wasn’t an option for me due to the potential internal bleeding that can occur. So I had a c-section.

My 2nd was breech and in the 6th percentile. I did opt for the doctors turning her at 37 weeks and was induced right then because of how tiny she was they were concerned with her size. I didn't have any issues with them actually turning her, they had 2 doctors and an ultrasound machine to watch it from the inside and they gave me medication and then turned her from outside my belly with no issues. They kept and eye on how she was being moved to avoid anything from hurting her. I wanted a vaginal delivery really bad and really wanted  to avoid the CSection (no shame to anyone who has had one I just knew what I wanted). There is a chance that baby can flip back to breech position but they had a thing around my tummy to help keep her in position for a couple hours. She settled right in and a little over 24 hours later I had my healthy baby girl in my arms. Now she is a crazy 3 year old.

Try walking with one foot up on a curb and the other on the road. It might now work but has turned babies for people on the past. Or walking up and down stairs.

My friend had it done. She was pregnant with twins. She had one baby in position and the second baby was breech. They gave her that as an option or if she wanted a c section. She decided she wanted them to turn the baby. Day of delivery she birthed one baby and then they turned the second. She went all natural and she said it was painful, but she then birthed the second vaginally as well.

Following. I've never had it done but I've heard it's painful and doesn't always work. I think there are different positions and exercises that can help a baby turn as well.
