Who is throwing your baby shower?

This is my 1st baby. My mom passed away 9 years ago. My Dad has always been a huge support for me. Paid for half my wedding and is planning to pay for my shower. But I feel like I don’t want to put much on him. My Godmom is very close to me also and planned my beautiful bridal shower. His parents are supportive but they are much older and live in a different state. My husband and I plan on helping with the cost. Is that ok for us to help? My situation is just not typical....😔

My husband and I will just be doing a BabyQ. We wanted to host something so both of our families would feel comfortable. And we also wanted a coed get together 😊

I meant to put me instead of parents! My husband and I will be planning it but my mother in law will more than likely help the day of. We did the same for our wedding and paid for everything ourselves. This is our second baby but our first is 9 years old. We just want to do a small get together.

I had the same babysitter, Mary, from literally before I can remember up until I was 11 (we moved at that point). She came to my college graduation and my wedding and my mother has been known to refer to her as my "other mom." (they work together now, at a distance, and are great friends). (context, I moved again a few years ago, we're in 3 different states
Before I was ready to tell everyone, my mom called to tell me that Mary was in town for a work event and to basically beg me to tell her because she was about to explode from having no one to talk to. So I called Mary, delighted to tell her of course, and she was over the moon, she told me to make sure to send her an invite to my shower even if she couldn't make it.
Talked to my mom the next day and told her what Mary stuff and she replied, "oh, no we were up all night taking and we've decided we're throwing your shower."
I'm so lucky 💜 neither of them live anywhere near here but they're flying out here anyway to show their love for me and my husband and our little man.

We decided since we already 3 we will not have one, but instead mayb a gender reveal mini-party & do baby registry. Jus not n the budget & besides we use on other related baby items we need. Enjoy ur shower tho.

My sister is the party planner, she will do mine. I know my sister in law (husband's brother's wife) wants to help as well. Ours will be co-ed and laid back, and I'll help with it too :) the right thing is whatever works for you!!
