Do I tip someone who cuts my hair?

I hope this isn’t a totally stupid question. I’m just wondering because I want to get my hair cut tomorrow!

Yes absolutely! They basically live off tips ~someone who worked at Supercuts in high school

Anytime you have a service done like hair, nails, tattoos, piercings, waxing, etc. You tip. Those people pay the salon rent every month to have their booth and they rely on and deserve tips.

I really struggle to accept tipping and hate doing it. Places should pay for employees, I shouldn’t have to pay them for you. (And I was a server at an upscale restaurant throughout college so don’t get on me for this).

Ok so if I go to a salon, I ALWAYS tip. But I have a question for y’all. 
I have a friend that has a salon in the basement of her house. It’s just her so there’s no other employees she has to pay or anything like that. 
Would you still tip someone like that? (I only went once but I tipped her)
