First doctors appointment?

When do you have/schedule your first one? I just got a bfp this morning (yay!) and now I feel very lost as it’s my first and I don’t know what to do now, haha. Going from my last period I’m only 3 weeks and 5 days so I know there’s still time before I go but I was curious as to when you called to set up the appointment and what week you go. Thank you!

You can call now and see when the doctor would want to see you! All doctors have different procedures. Congrats!!!

From what I've seen most women get their first appt at 8 weeks or later. I had my first around 6 to confirm viability because of the fertility treatments before I moved to the obgyn on post.

Mine told me just to drop in! So I went a couple days after my BFP and got a BFN in the office as their tests are so sensitive. Then did a blood test to confirm I was. So if you go soon and get a negative it may just be too early and not to panic!

Go to doc - get 2 scripts. These are both for HCG blood tests, take them 2 days apart to ensure your HCG is doubling. Then book an app with your obstetrician at 7 weeks. This will be your first ultrasound & heartbeat check 😊

I found out at 3 weeks 4 days, called my doctor right away and was seen at 10 weeks.

I called the midwife office at 6 weeks and made my first appt for 11 weeks.

I called right when I found out, and at the first office I looked into, they couldn’t get me in until 14 weeks (I was about 5 weeks at the time) and I wasn’t comfortable with waiting that long. The office I ended up going to would let me come in as soon as the doctor I wanted to see had an appointment available at a time that worked for me. I ended up going in at 7 weeks.
