Eternal Family?

Question

What is an eternal family in the Mormon Church? My cousin got married spontaneously last year and has now posted pictures in front of a temple saying they are now an eternal family? I am just curious

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints (Mormon) and I believe this as well. I got married 6 months ago in a temple and I know that the things that happened there are true. 
God gave us these covenants to be able to live forever (even after we die) with our families,  because heaven wouldn’t be heaven without them. We have the choice to make those covenants if we want to.
