If your doing a hospital birth, how far is your hospital from your home?

I love my ob, and i want her to deliver for us, im 18 weeks and really dont want to change drs right now. Another dr asked me why am i going so far? I live in Queens, NY and my delivering hospital is in Manhattan, its about 45-80min drive from where i live (depending on traffic).

My husband is now on the fence thinking we wont have time.. when its that time.. what do u guys think?.
