Domestic Adoption, where to start?

Kayley

So we recently found out my sons heart defect is genetic, and if we have another theirs can be even worse. We also saw these answers as a sign since I had a very rough pregnancy where me and my son almost didn’t make it. We figure if we tried again it will end worse.

After many tears, prayers, and heart to hearts we have decided we want to adopt a baby here in the United States. We’ve both always dreamed of a huge family and were planning on fostering to adopt after our next pregnancy. I know domestic adoptions, especially for newborns in the US can take years to get matched with a birth mother, so I am starting my research now. What agencies would you suggest? We currently live in Missouri, but there’s a chance we will be relocating to Arkansas in a year or so if my Mom gets transferred. My parents are a big part of our lives, especially our sons,so we will follow them. Especially since they will be financing a majority of our adoption. (My Mom is a financial director, so she makes the big bucks. And if she gets the transfer she will be making another $50k a year so helping us is nothing to them) Agencies from either state will be appreciated. We are very nervous, but excited to start this journey and can’t wait for the day we get a call saying our child was born.

Figured I’d add in a few pictures of us, one of my little family, and the second of my big southern family in Mississippi. My husband had to work so he couldn’t go with us this trip.
