How should I pursue a guy that likes me!

There is a guy in rotc that I’m starting to like because I think he may like me, based on his actions and body language. I wanna get to know him more, but the thing is, I don’t know where to start.

I see him everyday, but it’s always during our physical training time or class time, so I never really get to talk to him for more than a few minutes at a time. I figured I could ask him if he wants to hangout sometime, that way we can just take the time to get to know each other. However, I don’t know if asking him is too sudden, or way out of pocket. I mean, I’m not trying to ask him out so I don’t wanna scare him away or make him have the wrong idea, but I feel like because of how easy going and open he is around me I feel like he will “go with the flow”. Is this a good idea? What are your suggestions on how I should move forward?
