Is it normal to talk to your SO all day?

I'm not just talking about like a text every so often. Like, actually texting them every couple minutes all day until you guys are together. 
I live with my SO and ever since we got together 5 years ago he makes me text him literally all day unless we are together. To the point where all we are saying is "yes" "mhm" and it drives me completely insane. Hes a bit controlling and I feel like this is his way of making sure I'm not doing anything I shouldn't be. If I take longer than like, 20 minutes to text him back without an explanation as to why, he asks me what I'm doing.
Basically I was just wondering if this is the norm in anyone elses relationship. 🤷‍♀️

No it’s not normal. If you live together you especially don’t need to text all day. Couples that live together need space too.

We text throughout the day & call each other at times & we live together, not a problem for us. However it’s not every few mins sometimes it’s every couple hours. We are close it’s not an issue with us but if you need space get that. Saying he “ makes “ you text him is kind of weird.

My question would be what is he doing that is making him so paranoid?

Not normal. I’ve been married for 7 years with 2 kids. Right now I’m in Florida where our son has been since birth getting medical treatment and my husband is in Indiana where we live working to pay the bills. We text maybe 3-4 times during the day and one long phone call at night. And that’s without seeing each much for the last 3 months I’ve been away. It’s definitely controlling to expect you to text him every second of your day.

Some days my fiance and I are like that.. but if one of us is busy we don't get worked up waiting for a reply.. we just wait until they have time to respond.
My man is gone around 14-16 hours a day and by the time he gets home he is worn out so we use the day time to text and communicate about things so he doesn't have to worry about it in the evening.  
Imo there is no "normal" here, just what is normal for each couple.  If both people are choosing to engage this way and this often, both are comfortable, and it aids in their communication- absolutely that's normal.  If one partner is using it as a form of control and forcing the other partner to engage and getting upset and controlling when they don't- that's neither normal nor healthy.  That is crossing the borderline into abusive, imo..

I voted too quick. I talk to my hubby all day. But we get busy and sometimes don’t text at all. Sounds like a controlling thing. When my ex started doing that to me, I found out he was cheating. He was so scared of me cheating because he was.

Me and my husband texts all day. Not every couple of minutes though.
He calls me for his hour drive Home
My husband works 13+ hours a day 6 days a week.

We love together but don’t always text each other or call but my boyfriend likes calling every 4/5hours to check up on me and see if everything’s ok.
