Skipping a feeding?

Question

Has anyone ever skipped a feeding, as in, let’s your husband (or anyone really) feed the baby from the freezer stash so you can take a break? It’s been 7 weeks, we are EBF and he is constantly in my arms. He eats and sleeps in my arms (yes, even at night) but if I put him down or pass him off he immediately wakes up and cries. He won’t even play with anyone else but me for longer than a few minutes. It has been this way since birth. I love him, and I am cherishing our time together, but I’m losing my mind little by little. Am I being selfish for wanting this?

Yes! I think it’s important for my husband to feed the baby from the freezer stash (that’s what it’s there for!) so he can bond with him as well. Plus it allows me to sleep at night. 😊

You are not selfish at all!! I have my husband to a bottle feed when I'm to the point where I cant take it anymore because I'm so sleep deprived. You are human and you need to be well just as much as your baby needs to be well! Please don't feel guilty about it, we all need a break sometimes and not everyone is lucky to have a baby that sleeps well or even through the night. I envy those mommas!!

I had this happen with our first. She only ever wanted me would never even take a bottle so it was always me! This time around with our son I started pumping as soon as I could when my milk came in. I have my husband give him a bottle at least once a day so that baby is used to it. I also try to pump whenever I can but no strict schedule, so that I can have a stash so if I need to be away from baby that I can be. The first time around I never got a break and could never have any me time for almost a year and a half so I made it a point to start right from the beginning this time around!

Not selfish at all! My LO had dropped her midnight feeding but then the 3mo growth spurt hit a couple weeks ago and she's gone back to wanting that feeding every night. I'm back at work now, so I the last few nights I have had my husband do a bottle for that midnight feeding since my breasts dropped the feeding once before without supply issues. Now each of us can get a longish stretch of sleep since she still wakes up every three hours.

Not selfish at all!!!  If he will take a bottle, GO FOR IT!!!  it will allow you time to rest, decompress, SHOWER (OMG how much I missed showers), or even have a glass of wine.

No, you're not selfish. My 8.5 month old is ebf so he's never had a bottle meaning I've fed him myself this whole time. I'm 3 months pregnant and he's gotten so clingy, he still nurses every 2-3 hours even at night. I'd love for hubby to be able to feed him my freezer stash just so i can nap to beat the first trimester fatigue but i don't think he'll take anything but the boob.
