Puppy while working??

Question

Does anybody have a puppy while working full time? What’s your routine? Is it inhuman to leave the puppy in a kennel for 8 hrs? I have a job that will allow me to come home during lunch, which is only 30 minutes, but I still have time to take her outside and play with her a bit before going back.

I left my dogs in the kennel until they were fully trained and I could trust them in the house alone. If you can come home during the day to let it out until it’s trained why not? My dogs survived just fine and are happy girls!! They were in the kennel from about 630-130

We put a baby gate up outside out dining room to keep out 2 dogs off the carpet because they like to pee around the house sometimes. 🙄 I would try something like that so the pup has more room to move and play. Another great thing, you could ask a trusted friend fo drop in while your gone if possible? It really depends on the activity level of the dog I think... especially if you can come home on your lunches. 
I have 2 senior pugs who have a pretty low activity level. At most they are left alone maybe 6 hours (usually less though) between me and my SO working. We also have 2 friends who can occasionally come by if they have to be alone longer.

Dont get a dog if its going to be forced to be in a cage for 8 hours a day.

Sticking them in a kennel for 8 hours unattended every day is a shitty thing to do. That’d be like you being stuck in a bathroom stall sized area for 8 hours. I suggest looking at other options 
A dog babysitter, doggy daycare, using child gates to block off parts of the house you want him in/out of so he still has part of the house to roam 
Why exactly do you want him to be kenneled when you aren’t there?

It’s tough on them to be in the cage that long. 
Are there any daycares or anything you can take the pup to?
