7 weeks exactly scan fetal pole???

Question

Hey so I had a scan today to check if the baby is growing in the right spot and he saw a fetal pole. My doctors machine is really old so he said to come back at 9 weeks to detect a heartbeat too. Is that normal to only have a fetal pole at 7 weeks? I have a child but we never knew I was pregnant until 9 weeks so I am not aware of anything what would happen before. Doc said it’s normal to have a fetal pole between at 6 and half weeks and 7 weeks so am I behind couple of days or what? Sorry for the silly question. Just overthinking everything since I have had 3 miscarriages before. Thanks whoever answered xx

I went in when Glow said I was 7+1 but I measured 5+6 and saw a fetal pole but no heartbeat. I go back on Friday to monitor growth and hopefully see a heartbeat. I know how disappointing it is to leave without seeing that! Good luck to you!

Your estimated date of conception and due date are probably off.  I went for a 6 week transvaginal and they could see the sak, yolk, but no fetal pole.  She told me to come back in 2 weeks which I did, and the fetal pole measurement put me at 6.5 weeks that week.  It is normal to see the fetal pole between week 5-12 and then it starts to look like a real baby.  They tell how far you are along by the measurement of the fetal pole.  You should be able to hear the heartbeat after 6/7 weeks also.  Good luck!

Ps! We didn’t even listen to the heartbeat because he said the machine is too old to detect things that early etc.
