Normal or "Ok take it down a notch" - baby prep

Those who are at least on their second-

So...idk where this falls in the spectrum of normal - neurotic ha but I was really really anal with my first & of course had all the things.. never before opened or used. So obviously I'll wash the carseat, carrier, mattress pad etc & I'm tossing old mildewy bath toys. I guess i'm just confused about where to draw the line. I mean the kids not gonna have as perfect environment as my first because hello...3 year old. But I mean do I toss the half used jar of petroleum so that baby doesn't potentially get exposed to some kinda yuck? Do I re-use my first nose freida & just clean it or but another? Should i buy an unused butt paste so as not to expose newborn to contaminants? I mean how far should I take it? My 3 year old is gonna pee in the tub...I can't bleach the tub every night. I don't even really know how to word what i'm trying to ask.
