Fetal Doppler working? Should I be worried?

Anyone else afraid your picking up your heart beat and not the babies? I got my fetal Doppler on today. The babies heart rate would range from 120-149. I’m not sure if it’s picking up mine her the baby. When I put it on my heart it would rand from 66-120. Should I be worried? I’m 12W 3D, seen baby on Monday and heart rate was 168.

This is why doctors dont recommend buying at home dopplers.. it causes unnecessary stress. Sounds like you're hearing your own heartbeat.. don't get too worried, sometimes the doctor cant even find the heartbeat right away.

I watched you tube and learned the difference between my own heartbeat and the baby’s.
The baby’s is fast and sounds like galloping horses, or a train, I found mine sounds more like a swooshing noise. Also, my baby is sitting up higher than the average for 12 weeks which makes a difference. You need to be looking in the right spot based on your body- which can take some time.

Don’t use the screen it’s not always accurate. Once I find baby’s HB I count for 10 seconds and then multiply by 6 to get a more accurate reading of the HB.

You should hear three different heart beats/rhythms. One is slower and that's your normal heart rate, a second is usually 120-130 swishing sound and that's the supply to the placenta, and the faster galloping sound is baby.

It also depends if you have a anterior placenta. That can make it very tricky to get a reading apparently.

Took me a few days to really find it and get the hang of using my doppler. I’m 12.5 today and just got it! Just go slow, full bladder but not stomach.  I also watched YouTube videos to help ✨🌈💜✨

I wouldn't worry I have trouble finding my babies heart beat on my Doppler you just have to be patient. I had appointment today and Dr had trouble too bc baby was moving a lot an you could hear mine too. But find it and baby and mom is healthy

I was using my Doppler and getting the same range... just to find out it’s my heartbeat and not babies. I’m 12 weeks 2 days and tried again today with no luck. Pretty sure I’m going to retire it until I’m further along and feel movements. Don’t get too stressed about it.
