Please comment thoughts

Yesterday my AF came but is totally different; I usually have symptoms day of or the second day of cycle this time it started a week before. I also start heavy bleeding on my second day the other days are pretty light but I usually get the worst cramps. This cycle started heavy first day and with blood clots (weirdly watery), also I had an awful metallic taste in mouth. I’m only on day two but nothing about this seem right. I went to the doctor and they said sometimes your cycle just change and I may have iron deficiency causing the taste in my mouth.
