What do you say when people ask about you when you are having kids

Between my husbands family and mine, we are the only ones that dont have kids and we have been married going on 9 years. So anytime we have a family get together people start asking and I have no clue what to say. 
We are currently going to a infertility specialist and are getting all our testing done. I'm not ready to talk about this with everyone (my mom and 2 sisters know) as I get super sensitive about it. 
What does everyone else say when people ask about when you're going to have kids?

I used to joke it off saying ‘Oh we have plenty of animals to take care off’... and other brush of sayings like that. But to be honest I get quite aggressive or blunt these days- we have been trying 7years now. 
I just straight out say now we have to go through IVF... shuts people up real quick and I admit I take a bit of pleasure watching them squirm on what to say- they deserve it for asking. It’s nobodies business but your own.

I just start laughing a little and say “ who knows maybe in the near future 😜😘”. Usually they shhhush up. I’m very private and sensitive too. I hate that question! What I really want to say to them is “well I just had a m/c so idk when it might be right for u guys 😠🖕”. Going through this I’ve told myself I will never ask another woman when are you having kids. I just always told people “we’re not” very matter of fact.  I think it almost shocked people when I would respond that way and often the subject changed rather quickly.  We ttc for 5.5 years, had 4 miscarriages, and were finally blessed with a healthy pregnancy (now 1yr old).

Our families are tricky and only wait until my husband leaves the room to bombard me with these questions. Im not sure why exactly. But we have solved the issue! I never leave my husbands side at family events. Even if it means I go to the washroom with him. 😂😂😂

I’m sorry you’re going through that. 
we are the only ones in both of our families who are in our 30s and still don’t have kids - and everyone is always asking when with raised eyebrows - I usually just give a terse “when we are ready, or maybe not at all”. But then you hear “you’ll never be ready ...blah blah”. 
I know they mean well ... but honestly I don’t really want to explain that  Im not sure if we can have a kid. I’ve had lots of intense abdominal Surgery since I was a baby and I just don’t know what to expect. I pretty much don’t plan on telling anyone when/if we begin ttc. 
Hang in there ❤️ holidays coming up I know it’s usually when it gets mentioned - at least in my family.

Hello ladies . Reassuring to see our situations are similar . I’m an only child and 34 . Constantly asked my in laws and friends when a baby will be arriving . My husband has a brain tumour and has got through brain surgery three years ago so I say we have enough to deal with . But we’ve been trying for 14 months now . 😪

I hate the questions. Makes me so angry. I think people are just ignorant. It doesn't occur to them that many couples struggle with infertility, and being asked when you will have a baby is like throwing salt and lemon juice in an already open wound. I have now taken to telling people straight up "we won't be having children. I am infertile." I am not sure if this is true, but it's looking more and more to be the case. I struggled with irregular cycles all through my teens and twenties. Although my first several off the pill have been pretty consistent and normal, we've had no success. OPK was positive, we did the deed many times around "ovulation" for several months, nada. So I have minimal hope left. When I tell people it's not going to happen, they get real embarrassed and shut up immediately. My husband hates that I do this, and asked what I will tell them if I do get pregnant. I told him "I'll say it was a miracle." We all have to find our own ways to navigate this nightmare.
