When are you ladies starting maternity leave?

I really wanted to work until the end because it’s all unpaid leave but I.just.cant. Decided to stop on 11/2 at 38+2 days :( hoping she doesn’t come before that so I can at leave have a couple of days of rest!!

I’m in the USA and get 6 weeks for vaginal birth (i have to use all of my sick time, go on short-term disability and use a prorated portion vacation) and get 8 weeks of Paid Family Leave-Bonding (half your salary). I’m leaving at 38 and a half weeks. I work with one of my best friends and she worked until she went into labor. Her water broke at work (we work rat a hospital). But, I saw her go from being so stressed at work to now having a newborn. It was also her 3rd. It’s my 1st and I planned on working right up until I gave birth but after seeing what she when through I was like NOPE! I’m due on 11/21/18 and since my mom will be staying with me, I also wanted some time just for me and my husband before the baby comes and my mom is staying with me.  My husband works from home so I’ll get some quality time with him. Unfortunately, 14 weeks off is a lot for most people in the USA, I’m very fortunate that I can financially afford it.

I started mine 2 weeks ago, I was 37 weeks but I also have a year of leave, I’m in Canada.

I am starting this week. My job I will be off for 78 weeks,once he is born. But I am only going to get paid for 52 weeks at 55%. I am sharing 3 months with my husband so it will be dropped off more. I am hoping to go back to work after the summer. I love Canada where we have mat  leave. I am sorry for anyone who doesn't have mat leave , I think it's cruel and unusual to make a mom work immediately after giving birth!!!

I’m stopping at 38. I’m scheduled to be induced at 39. I need to work til the day he shows up but I’m so over it! I work in customer service kn the phone all day and I find it’s getting harder and harder every day to be nice to people. Not to mention everyone says I’ve dropped but he still spends all his time in my ribs! Although I can breathe better today!

So weird how everyone gets a different amount of time off. I get 17 weeks plus 4 weeks for baby bonding.

My induction is tomorrow at 3 am so I started today 😬 I work 12 hours and live about 45 minutes away from work and the hospital so this just seemed to make sense. Hopefully I dont regret going a day early
