Wondering the chances

If you got the implant about 6 weeks ago and had a period what are the chances it will fail as I taught it was meant to get rid of periods .. also had sex the day before period came and wondering am I still safe being I had the bar implant in hubby also used condoms as we want to plan when to have kids we don't want to rush into things .
