Anyone else get “the purge” right before your period?

Severe gut cramps that cause, you guessed it, severe diarrhea and/or vomiting from pain. Also, swelling of the abdomen and back spasms.

I get diarrhea and back spasms! Just went to obgyn yesterday and he thinks i have endometriosis. I honestly thought these symptoms were typical pms 🤦🏻‍♀️

The chemical that causes your uterus to contract to expel tissue and blood can also affect your digestive track and have the save contraction effect. It’s unfortunate but I don’t think it’s that unusual. I would say that anything that is worrisome or causing you distress is worth discussing with your doctor.

I don't always get diarrhea sometimes I have constipation instead. But yeah I get all of those other ones too and I don't bleed cause of my iud but I can tell my body still goes through the period phase of my cycle. If it's severe enough pain you might look into the possibility of endometriosis. I am currently working on finding out if I have it.
