Epidural or Natural ? Which is best ?

Well I had an epidural with my daughter but I don’t want to have it again with this one . I’m being induced so I’m afraid it’s going to hurt worst although I know they’re going to give me meds for pain so I don’t want to risk a Lil bit of pain for a lifetime . 
I just actually seen how big the needle is and remember the pain from epidural last time . I really truly want to have my abby natural and need encouragement from women who have had natural labor as well as being induced . I heard natural is quicker but I also heard it’s more painful . 
Idk but after watching the videos and as many times as I said I was going natural , I really want to ... please give me some advice and encouragement on this, I’m having my baby induced in 2 days and I think I just wanna deal with the pain with no big needle in my back ... I will feel so happy and proud of myself as well. Feedback and experience please

You can definitely do it if that’s your goal and you’re properly prepared. Being induced does tend to produce more painful contractions though, since they’re created artificially.

My birth plan was do not have a birth plan!!! You dont know what is going to happen in the moment.  I did 2 epidurals and one natural.  The latter I had NO choice.  It started and was over in 30 minutes.  Only 5 contractions.

I started out all naturally, my water broke by itself at 9:30pm. Cot contractions within minutes, but could still talk through them somewhat. Hospital told me to stay at home till I couldn’t or come in before 9am. At 8am I couldn’t talk or walk with the contractions any more so we drove to the hospital. Was around 3cm dilated, they took tests and did what midwifes need to do. 
Got a delivery room around 11am because contractions got stronger. Spent quite some time in a bath tub, even fell asleep between contractions. Ate som lunch, Jumped around on a ball, walked around with a walker, sat in a chair walked some more. Tried to eat som dinner. Sat some more in the bathtub. Still not dilated more than 5cm. They started a drip to get things going around 6pm(timeline somewhat fussy here) contractions got really intense. Around 8-9pm I got an epidural, fell asleep within a few minutes slept for 3-4hours with “quote SO; crazy contractions” woke up felt I needed to push, and baby came in 14minutes, after 4-5pushes. 
Would do the exact same tactic again, start without and see what happens. I felt super safe from my water broke til baby was born. Just trust your body and listen to the midwifes they know what they are doing.

I had a natural but I wouldn't say it was better or faster or anything like that. It was what I chose for myself and for my delivery so I was proud to have achieved that. You gotta do what you gotta do to give birth as safely and as comfortably as possible for both you and baby.

I wanted to go natural, but I had to be induced and the contractions were intense with not much of a break between them. At 4cm my contractions were 3 minutes long with 20-30 second breaks. Once they started rolling into one another I asked for the epidural. My contractions were so long and intense that they thought I was in transition. I should have asked for it earlier as it to the aneathesiogist an hour to get to me. They also added a PCA of fentanyl.
My mother is a nurse/midwife and she told me after that most women who are induced ask for an epidural. The contractions are synthetically produced and are intense.
I know in my case my body was fighting against the induction. I had been in active labour for 4 hours and  had only moved from 3cms to 4cms
Once I had the epidural, I was fully dialated three hours later. I think it was because I could relax and they could turn up the syntocin. 
Everyone is different and every birth is different. You may find you do not need an epidural. Make a plan of other non-medical pain relieving techniques you want to use first. And practice them in the weeks leading up to birth. 
Having an induction means you will need monitoring, so check with your hospital whether they have wireless monitors and whether they can get wet in the shower/bath. I didn't realise I'd be hooked up and couldn't get the devices wet. I had hoped to use the shower/bath to relieve pain but couldn't use them with the monitoring devices. Ask if they provide things like a tens machine and exercise ball, or whether you need to bring those things in with you.

well I had 2 natural deliveries...one epidural  that past one I was induced too....my two first ones was more easy....but yes more pain...but lest stress and you had more control over it...im planning and hoping to had a natural this time...but my baby is already too big...we see what happen in three months...good luck to you 😉

My epidural was placed wrong. 
I experienced natural birth pain. 
Worst experience of my life if I’m honest but the epidural was such a horrible part of all of that- I’d honestly opt for natural and learn some good coping techniques.

I had an unplanned natural birth. I had planned for a epidural and pain meds. I arrived at the hospital 20 min after my water broke and was too far along to have pain meds and an epidural. I was in labor for 1 1/2 hours. I plan on my next being a natural birth.

I was so adamant I was lot having an epidural whatsoever with my first child andddddd then I ended up in labor for 33 hours and went through 4.5 hours of pushing because my son was facing my hip and wouldn't turn. My husband had back surgery 8 weeks prior to my due date so my dr knew a c section was a last resort for me because I had no help at home. Around hour 16 she came to me and said I needed to consider an epidural because I wasn't going to be able to endure the pain of them moving him without one. She was right, it was a necessity. 
I also had an epidural with my daughter and I regret it, I really shouldn't have with her. But I was induced again and scared of complications again so I did. I went in with a plan of safe delivery for mom and baby and that's what we did. 👍
