Anybody turn their car seat around yet?

Question

We’re getting close to 2 years. Wondering if anyone turned their car seat around yet? I know it’s recommended to wait until 2, but I’m just curious. I know some people do a little early, for whatever reason.  If so, has it been better or worse for you or your little one?

No way. I’m maxing our the weight or height limit, whichever comes first. It’s the safest thing to do. It could literally be the difference between life or death in an accident.

I actually read somewhere that they are trying to push the age limit til almost 4 for rear facing or until they grow out of the height and weight requirement. Don't know if that already happened or not. Anyway, I plan on keeping my daughter rear facing as long as I can.

Not anytime soon, the safest position for them is rear facing. We are going to wait until he meets the max height and weight parameters. I was a pediatric nurse for many years before having my son and worked in the pediatric ICU where is witnessed too many horrible car accident victims and therefore I am crazy about a lot of things.

We turned him around at 18 months. Hes in the 90% for height and was so uncomfortable. He LOVES being able to see where hes going and see us. I don't regret it at all.

We have not and will not till minimal 2 or outgrows rear face setting. My daughter does best rear facing. Some states are trying to change legislation to bare minimal rear facing for 2 years. If the child doesn’t have an issue, it’s safest to keep them rear facing for as long as possible.

We’re still rear facing. I feel bad bc he’s SO tall, but it’s so much safer. My husband and son were hit (slow speed fender bender) on Friday while on their way to daycare - everyone is okay. I’m very thankful that he rides rear facing. It’s just safer.

My kiddo has maxed it out she's 99% for height and 95% for weight. She's currently wearing 4t clothing so we definitely had to turn her forward facing because rear facing was getting dangerous wither her legs being so bent up

NOPE NOPE NOPE. We all need to wait til the last possible second. Max out all the height and weight requirements. You want their bones to be able to withstand the force of their straps restraining them in a crash and it’s significantly more extreme of a force when they’re facing frontwards. My daughter will probably be 3 before she gets front facing because she’s just petite.

Nope. I will max out that height and weight limit. Also here in Canada the age for rear-facing has been increased to 4. So if he’s still fine by that time I’m going to leave him like that. I’d rather his legs be a little uncomfortable than have him die/have a serious injury due to an accident.
