How long after c section to TTC?

I had a traumatic birth experience and I’m hoping to start TTC when I’m 6 months or 1 year post partum. How long after a c section did you get pregnant?
I had a c section but no baby to preoccupy my time. I feel so sad when I see pregnant women or women with babies. I just want a baby 😩

I’m on my first so don’t have personal experience, but all modern research now encourages 18 months between pregnancy to allow your body to heal. The longer between births the less likely you’ll have a premature second pregnancy. Your doctor can probably give you a good estimate based on your specific recovery.

I would definitely recommend waiting a year, if not longer just so everything internally has plenty of time to heal. We waited a year and a half and I experienced 5 weeks worth of bleeding from a hemorrhage this time around. I don’t know if that has anything to do with having had a C-section before but that was something I didn’t experience with my first so it was a bit scary.

My friend waited 3.5 years, but she had twins and is a full time medical student, so it was easier to wait. Everything I've read says it's best to wait 18 months after a baby, regardless of how you deliver, so your body has time to recover though.
