Will a Now two yer old who will be 3 soon react well with a newborn

Question

I have a 2 year old son who will be 3 in December and I’m worrying not sure how he will react to a newborn I wanted him and his sibling close in age but due to my career and things that didn’t happen so now he would be 4 by the time the baby is 5/6 months? Any moms with experience with these age groups compatibility?

My son is 5 and I’m about to have a baby. He has been soooo super helpful during this pregnancy and he cannot wait to help with the baby.. he is so excited to meet her! He already has her nickname picked out and talks to her.. when we read he picks out books she might like.. I guess I’ll find out how it’s really going to be when she gets here but I think it will be awesome..
On another note, I think it completely depends on the kid!

My son is 4 months and my daughter will be 4 in January. She gets jealous at times but is mostly a great helper. She loves to make him laugh and always makes sure his bink and burp rag are near by.
