If you are being induced... when?

With my baby’s due date being right at Christmas, I want to be induced at 38 weeks but I’m not quite positive what my doctor will allow. 
If you are being induced (or have been induced with a previous pregnancy).. when were you/will you be induced?

My hospital unless there is a medical reason will not induce until week 42.

My doctor said elective inducing can only be 39 weeks or later

I haven't talked to my doctor about it, but the hospital doesn't allow anything earlier than 39 weeks unless there's a medical reason.

The drs usually only induce for medical reasons it’s not because the due date is inconvenient for either one of the parents the drs just think it’s the best option for have a live healthy baby and mother I’ve had induction 2 times before and it’s not fun my labors lasted 32 and 36 hours because my labor kept stopping and I couldn’t get up and walk around because they wanted me on the monitors all the time it’s better for the baby

Without a medical reason my doc will not induce before 41 weeks. Best to let baby come on it’s own time, even if it’s Christmas. I’m due dec 26, so I totally get that it’s not convenient. But inducing before  your body is ready commonly leads to a c- section.
