Spotting during early pregnancy??

Does that ever happen? I have been spotting for about two weeks, usually only when I go to the bathroom or after sex. I have been wearing a panty liner just Incase since AF was due 9 days ago, and only rarely has any blood ended up on the pad. Had two days (not consecutively) of cramping but nothing major. Thought my period was going to start but still hasn’t came. It’s dark brown or pink. Any clue what it could be?!? Haven’t tested yet as I don’t want to get my hopes up and be crushed if it isn’t anything pregnancy related 😔
