(Possible TW) Should bear traps and other leg holding traps be banned everywhere?

I was going to include other pictures of traps but I didn't want to search forever for pictures without animals in them. 😬 Also I've noticed its hard to research what's legal and what's not unless its by specific states or jurisdictions so I have no clue what's legal and what's not so feel free to include what's legal and what's prohibited around you.

They are here and I think that’s only right. They are cruel and don’t kill the animal but leave them hurt and suffering for god knows how long. They are unacceptable imo.

They should be banned. This is extremely traumatic for the animal, cruel, and unnecessarily painful. Also, other animals, birds, as even humans could accidentally step on it.

I literally see purpose for these. They do not successfully trap an animal, they just leave them injured. There are so many other ways to trap an animal without causing it physical, permanent injuries.

My father is an avid hunter (barf...but that’s his life) and he thinks that leg traps are cruel and also a form of cheating. Trapping and returning is not hunting. He abides by hunting laws and seasons and LOVES tracking. He doesn’t understand why anyone would use a leg trap. He also hunts with two coon hounds and they could be seriously injured by a trap.

I support banning them. I have no issue with hunting, but these traps are horrible. If you want to hunt go do it right and kill the animal immediately. Trapping them and leaving them to suffer for hours and maybe even days is just, I don’t even know the right word here.

I mean, I don’t see why you’d use these when hunting just because a bullet is a lot quicker and more painless than this. And as far as trapping is concerned, there are a lot of other more humane ways of trapping an animal on your property. I.e. a cage like they use for feral cats to get them fixed and then released.

If they’re being used on someones own private property then that’s 100% okay because it’s their land/property and they have their own rights to do whatever! Obviously if you’re out hunting on public land than yes is should be banned because I see that as “cheating”. But if you’re hunting on your own property than you have the right to do what you please!

This is just pure laziness. If your hunting why the fuck do you need this? Do the humane thing and give the animal aquick death. Not trap it and leave it injured and in pain for hours
