So after gettin a positive ,do we have to schedule a blood test or can the first Ob appointment be made?

After getting my positive I called to make my appointment and they had me do patient education. They just gave me a bunch of information about what to expect at me appointments and during labor/delivery and after. They did a bunch of blood work that day. I was 4 weeks and I didn’t see my midwife till 9 weeks.

You can totally just make the OB appt. But they also might want you to do blood tests, but then they'll just put the orders in and you can do them when you're able

I always had to do the blood test first so I had the proof of pregnancy but I think you can go ahead and schedule an appointment too.

Never scheduled a blood test for either pregnancy. My OB just made my first appointment. They ask when your last period was and go from there. I always told them how many positive pregnancy tests I’ve gotten.

What happened with me was, I called my OB and told them I took a positive pregnancy test and they had me go get my blood drawn. She told me it was low at 49 but to come back in a couple days to ensure it goes up properly. It did and they scheduled my first visit and U/S when I was 8w6d so almost 9 weeks. I was a little over 3 weeks pregnant when I took the test.

Depends on your OB. Mine just automatically schedules your first appointment for 8-10 weeks. However you can request a "confirmation appointment" where you come in sooner and they do a blood test.
