Visit to ER inconclusive

So today at lunch I went to the bathroom, wiped, and there was a dark red clot on the tp. I wiped a few more times and still red blood. Called dr, went to ER and was told that there is “something” in one of my tubes, an empty sack, and measuring 6 weeks. My HCG was 31,000. They said they couldn’t tell me anything else and my dr will be more thorough in my exam tomorrow. I should be measuring closer to 9 weeks or more. Is this a miscarriage? Ectopic? I have had some cramping off and on all day, but nothing severe.
