Lactation consultant told me not to pump to much

Anon

In the hospital she told me not to pump to much because it could create an oversupply which would make mastitis more likely.. she said to pump like once a day if my daughter misses a feed..

but my milk is coming in hard and I feel like every feeding my breasts are to engorged to feed her without it hurting..

I’m thinking I should pump a little before.. I’m just so afraid of having an over supply because mastitis is so painful, I had it a few times with my first.

And also when she latches to my right breast it feels like she is biting down really hard.. would that mean she isn’t latching correctly? Or is she just for real biting me? Ugh.
