Doctors telling you not to push or making you go home?

Question

Not sure if I’m posting in the right group. I’m so confused why doctors or midwifes send a mom home if she’s in labor? Or tells her to wait to come in? Almost every time, mom ends up going home and almost not making it back to the hospital in time. Or mom doesn’t get to get epidural like she planned because doctor made her go back home. 
And when your actually in labor why do they tell mom not to push if she feels she needs to push? Majority of the time, the nurse or midwife is wrong on determining how dilated you are or not and mom is correct and ends up having to push because her body is doing what it’s suppose to do. 
In all of this, most of the time whoever is delivering baby isn’t ready and don’t have the room ready. 
They never sent me home when I was in labor but they did tell me not to push with my second child and my husband ended up having to catch her because the doctor was trying to get gloves on. I couldn’t make myself not push. My child was ready to come. 
Anyone else see this kind of thing a lot and just wonder why. 
I would post this in controversy corner but I don’t want to trigger the moms who are trying to conceive.

I noticed you said most of the time and majority of the time A LOT. There's so many different things that can happen during labor and delivery. 
That being said I was a very nervous first-time mom and I live about 15 minutes away from the hospital... I just knew it was time even though they were telling me not to come into labor and delivery yet. so I waited at the hospital. It was summer- I figured hey I've got air conditioning lots of bathrooms lots of benches to sit on I can walk around and I'm here when I need to be. It was only like 20 minutes after I got off the phone with my OB office that a random doctor saw me and was like you're going to labor and delivery right now and got me a wheelchair and took me LOL

Some of the time, your body will make you feel like you have to push too early when you’re only 8/9 cm. Especially if you have back labor and the pressure on the tail bone can increase the urge to push. Pushing too early can cause hemorrhaging and tear up the cervix. This is all information my OB gave me when I asked. 
I’m not sure the part about sending a mom home in active labor though because I’m not a doctor. But, this is all the info my doctor gave me.

Another thing is that at the hospital you can't eat and have to have an IV, so early labor you're more comfortable at home. My friend labored for 28 hours before she was in active labor and then at the hospital labored another 10 hours, if she had been at the hospital the whole time she probably would have been miserable.

They send women home in early labor because labor can be a very long process (and prodromal labor can start and stop for weeks before the real thing) and if you’re only 0-2cm dilated they might send you home to wait and see if you’re going to progress or not. 
They tell you not to push primarily to try to prevent you from tearing. The slower babe comes out the more time your tissues have to stretch. It could also be because they see something you don’t, like a baby with his head flexed improperly or the cord around his neck, hand coming before the head, etc. 
These are obviously not going to encompass all mothers and all births but generally speaking.

This is part of the reason I’m going to labor & give birth in the comforts of home with two midwives. For better or worse, hospitals want everything to happen on their schedule, usually to the detriment of a mother’s wishes.

Yeah sorry y’all I did not mean to post anonymously. I guess I’ve just never experienced Being in labor for a long time. My labor was only a couple of hours once it started and I’ve always been atleast 3cm dialated before I went into actual labor. I would have been in trouble if they sent me home. I’m just making the point that a lot of moms know their bodies and I’ve read so many birth stories to where mom almost or didn’t make it to the hospital. I even read someone’s story here not to long ago a lady in my area ended up having her baby in her car on the way because doctors had sent her home. I feel like sometimes the doctors want to do stuff on their time. Another question, for moms who have home births with a midwife. This might be a stupid question. Can your midwife give you epidural if you decide you want one at home? Home births aren’t a big option here where I live.
