thoughts??

okay so I joined this club at my school and we’re meeting after school at a park. we’re “carpooling” (I say that in quotes because it’s kind of unorganized and casual). Students are driving themselves and as many students as they can fit to the park. I don’t have my permit or license so I need a ride.

My parents aren’t comfortable with another student driving me (especially because they don’t know them) and the only other option is to ride with my teacher/coach. I’m not uncomfortable riding with him, but I kinda have to tell him that my parents would rather him drive me than an inexperienced student. How do I do this without making it awkward?
