Changing pronunciation???

Question

Our son is 6 weeks old. We named him Arius (air-e-is) another way the name can be pronounced is r-e-us. Before we had him we decided we preferred Air-e-us pronunciation so we could call him Ares for short but now that I have used the name I find myself wanting to call him Ari (r-e) for short. Would it be weird to change how we pronounce his name? Should we just keep it air-e-us? Which do you guys like better?

I would probably pronounce it r-e-us if I saw it on paper. It's up to you how you pronounce it. I don't think it's a big deal to change how you pronounce it since your LO one is still really little. It could get confusing if you keep switching back and forth, though.

My baby cousin is Aeris pronounced Air-iss so I’d automatically assume your sons name was pronounce Ari-iss . So no it’s not weird to change the pronunciation and I also think the nickname Ari is cute and strong ! 
My best friend actually changed the pronunciation of her daughter’s name twice lol . She was nameless for a week , then she was Ariah (uh-rye-uh) for a few weeks , then Ariah (are-ee-uh) for a few , and now at 5 months old she’s back to Ariah (uh-rye-uh) permanently lol .
