So my BF and I switched from condoms to hormonal contraception nearly three months ago. Anyway, even with a lot of water based lube, I am having a pretty good amount of pain during vaginal sex. It’s an intense burning sensation, even after some foreplay. (I know this is TMI but like 2 fingers are okay, like my OB can do his exam no problem but when my boyfriend tries actual sex after foreplay it’s still awful pain)

The burning sensation can last for over an hour after sex and last time my vulva became reddened and swollen in addition to the burning sensation. We’ve gone condom-less before, but I don’t remember it ever hurting this badly. It’s gotten to the point where we’ve had sex twice in the last month and a half.

Besides making an appointment with my OB what do you guys suggest? Anyone ever experienced this before?
