Why do women giving birth tear? Is there a way to prevent it? Pregnant woman here🙋🏼‍♀️and don’t want to tear😬

Because a baby comes through your vagina. Your vagina stretches and can tear to allow baby through. 
You can get a product calked "Epi no" which helps stretch it prior to giving birth. The midwives will do all they can to prevent tearing, that's why you need to be fully dialated before you push.

Perineal massage is not proven to help. Laboring naturally and "breathing the baby down" is proven to help. But honestly, it's not that big of a deal. I know it's scary. This was a big deal for me the first time around, but it was so not a big deal when it actually happened. I didn't feel it happen amongst all the other things I was feeling, the stitches didn't hurt and recovery was not bad at all. Also, treating is preferable to being cut, just FYI. There is almost never a medical reason for an episiotomy.

My nurses like stretched my vagina while I was pushing they would like rub there fingers in there and sort of pull. I had a 9lb 6oz baby and didnt tear. I'm thanking them still lol

Well because your vagina entrance is smaller than the huge baby that is come out😂. If you don’t want to tear you need a super stretchy vagina😆

I had a 4th degree tare think through the rectum.  "purple pushing" is a great way to tare. Things that should help you can start doing paraneal massage with oil. You can during labor try to slow down & ...not rush the pushing more like easing the baby out. Takes a lot of restraint & breathing & coaching but known to help. Also water birth.

Personally, I was so afraid of tearing or having to be cut... well I tore pretty bad but had no idea until after she was out and they were stitching me up 😳 I didn’t even feel it.

I started to tear with my 1st so he did a episiotomy. With my second I tore the opposite direction and I don't wish that on anyone so with my 3rd I did a little research and tried evening primerose capsules. I inserted one vaginally every night about 2 weeks before my due date and I didn't tear on the outside with him just internally. I don't know if that was the exact reason why I didn't tear but I think it helped a lot.

I did not tear at all.  My nurse continuously stretched me out while I pushed.  I think that’s what made the difference.

It totally depends! The only things I can suggest are perineal massage before birth and  to slow down your pushing and to wait as long as you can to push, the faster Bub comes out the more likely you’ll tear!
For me with both my vaginal deliveries i got lucky and never needed stitches!! 
So not everyone tears! Xx
