Endometriosis and ivf???

Hi ladies,
I’m wondering if anyone has endometriosis and had a successful ivf??? I have small patches of endometriosis but I am not having it removed before ivf in January. I need some advice 😞

Hi, I was only 34 when they found my endo after 4 years of trying and periods that began to have me on my knees. IVF specialist gave me laser surgery, I had what they termed chocolate eggs both ovaries were covered but it wasn’t found anywhere else. They then gave us 6 months to fall pregnant naturally before we started IVF. Heads up, the pain and bleeding after the surgery the first 3 months was terrible. We didn’t fall so had IVF and I was so very lucky to fall first time with our now 11 year old son. They retrieved back then 16 embryos of which 8 fertilised, 5 made it to day 3 but only 3 made it to day 5. We then tried again naturally from when my son was 2 until 3 and were about to use first frozen only to find 2 weeks after my IVF meeting I was due my period that day that I didn’t have to go back as I was just pregnant! Eerily enough the day I was in his office was my mother in laws birthday, she passed away when he was 14, I’m positive she sent me our daughter. We have been trying the past 6 years since our daughter was 2 and I was 40. Sadly due to the health fund changing our policy to put us back on a 12 month wait list to have IVF and then being set back financially we weren’t able to have our first frozen procedure until 44. But our Doc was positive that we could even have one at 44 and back in for the 4th baby at 46! I laughed and said no way, are you mad I only ever wanted 3 but secretly was thinking gosh maybe I could. Well we got to day 16, I had the pregnancy test and was over the moon only to start bleeding that afternoon. While waiting again to be able to afford our last attempt we have given everything a whirl, including acupuncture and Chinese herbs. I was only in yesterday asking my Doctor if my endo might be back, I have low back pain again, started mid-cycle bleeding, blood in my CM (not normal for me), terrible bad bloating and the worst diarrhoea with stomach cramps, hot and cold chills. She really just totally fobbed me off, saying why are you worried about endometriosis now? Just do the IVF frozen transfer and then just forget about it (as in, if it doesn’t work, forget about having a third). I was so upset as when I had mentioned it to her in the past and 3 years ago to my IVF doctor they both said, don’t worry about the endometriosis, you can still get pregnant with the frozen or naturally but I can’t help but think my daughter came after my pregnancy with my son. After I had him my periods became clockwork to the hour every 28 days. After my daughter they were the same up until about two years ago. I think it’s come back but I think due to my age that I’ll just be dismissed, even though all my hormone levels show everything is still great. What I’m trying to say is, I wish I was 41 again, I wished I could have those 5 years back where I didn’t push the Doctors hard enough as I truly thought with already having 2 kids the 3rd would just come in those first few years. I think as it’s only mild you should be okay to still get viable eggs or they wouldn’t suggest wasting your time with it but then as the first comment says it was after the surgery they were successful but they had the wait after the surgery, which again is time. My Doctor said if I had endo surgery now it would affect the time left to do the IVF too before I’m 47, so I think I’ll do IVF and then switch to someone who specialises in treating endo if it’s unsuccessful. Whatever you do, you still have age on your side (my 41 year old friend just had 2 identical twin boys and after having tx for stage 3 cervical irregularities, stage 4 is cervical cancer and surgery for breast lumps that luckily were although big both benign). I was doing IVF and retrieved 8 eggs but was unsuccessful the first time, then had to have surgery for my endo and then I did not have any eggs for 4 months, now my eggs have reduced, make sure u can get what u can before surgery because u never know what may happen even though it's a race against time, I wish u well
