Sharing big news on Thanksgiving?!?!

Is anyone else sharing their pregnancy news with family on Thanksgiving? 🦃🍴🍁💛
I know we’re typically not supposed to share the news until around 12 weeks, but I don’t know how we’re going to keep it a secret from our family. I always drink wine at dinner, and if I don’t, they will question and in turn be a huge giveaway! I can’t lie for my life!!!!  If we do tell, I don’t intend on telling friends yet or making a public announcement. It will be on the hush hush for a while!

Kode, my youngest (2.5 years old) is going to wear this shirt to “tell” my side of the family on Black Friday when we do thanksgiving.  
*He doesn’t talk enough to say baby or such. He goes to speech therapy to help with that.  The binkie doesn’t interfere with that because he only uses it to sleep, sometimes he’s a little extra cranky so I let him wake up before taking it away. This was one of those days, lol.

Nope! Keeping it quiet. My first we told my in-laws at 8 weeks and even though we asked them not to, they told lots of other family and friends which ruined the announcement we had planned at the family Christmas party. Thankfully I don't drink all that much so it's not unusual for me to not have a drink.
If you want to keep it quiet, you could say you have a headache and you don't want to make it worse, or that you took medication.

I normally wouldn’t tell so soon, I really wanted to wait to tell anyone other than a few people we selected, but my dad is moving to another state and I don’t know when I’ll see him again, so I think we will tell him and my siblings since we will all be together. Which also means I have to tell my mom because my parents are divorced so she will get upset if she finds out I didn’t tell her around the same time 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

I’m waiting till I’m 12 weeks at Christmas because I had a bad experience with early announcement before........ ☹️ My last pregnancy, I told some people basically right when we found out, and I had a miscarriage shortly after that. It was one of the most difficult things I have had to do was to UN-tell people. I had to relive the MC cramping and bleeding with every single person and it was traumatic and emotional. So personally, me and my fiancé are waiting till we feel a tad more secure with this current pregnancy as I am only 5 weeks. But everyone is different, I’m sure your announcement will be beautiful any time you chose to do it. 🐣 good luck to you.

Were doing the same! I have my first ultrasound the day before thanksgiving and barring any complications we plan on telling my husbands immediate family. We told my family last weekend - we wanted to do both in person which is difficult, since both our families live out of state. Waiting to tell friends though until 10-12 weeks!

I always drink wine also like I love wine ima just tell them I’m on a antibiotic and can’t drink while on it..I have my lie all planned out I don’t know how to lie so I had to get some from some people on here 😂

There isnt any rule as to when you should tell.  I'm planning on telling my family at Thanksgiving as well and I'll be only 5 weeks.

We told our family yesterday!! We figured we were comfortable enough with everyone to be able to tell them if god forbid there was a miscarriage. 
I wore this shirt to dinner yesterday :)
