Looking for opinions and advice concerning first appt at 10 weeks!

So, my first pregnancy resulted in a miscarriage at 10 weeks. I really didn’t like the care that I got from the hospital in my town. I’m currently 6+1, and my first appt is scheduled for when I’ll be 10 weeks, at a different hospital this time.

The thing is.. the new hospital doesn’t do ultrasounds at the first appointment. We wanted to tell our families about the pregnancy when I hit 12 weeks, which will actually be on Christmas. But I don’t want to do that without knowing that everything is actually okay. I called the new hospital and explained what happened during my first pregnancy, and requested to have an ultrasound at the first appointment. They told me they can’t schedule an ultrasound before the appt, and that I’ll have to ask my doctor during the appointment and it will be up to them. And that it wouldn’t be the same day..

I feel like as the patient, requesting an ultrasound, I’m the one who would be paying for it... How can they say no? I considered calling the other hospital to see if they could just do an ultrasound, but I don’t want to get ALL of my care there. Feeling so lost and unsure as to what to do 😞 Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated!
