Mirena

Jen

I had a mirena inserted a few weeks ago even though I don't do well on hormonal birth control. I can't use the copper IUD anymore because of fibroids, the pill makes me nauseous and at only 30 they don't want to go a more permanent route even though I don't want kids.

My main problem with the pill was the really bad mood swings during my period. I have just had my first period with mirena and those kind of mood swings are back. It got so bad that it felt like every single possible emotion was trying to happen all at the same time and it was horrible. I was at work (luckily no one was around me) all I could do curl up and hold my head. Everything was spinning and I just felt like I was going insane.

My question is if mirena does occasionally make your period stop do you still get period symptoms? I have an appointment with my doctor before my next period is due but I just wanted to ask people who have actually used mirena before.
