What’s your dumb moment of the week?

So I’m nannying a 4yo and a 2yo yesterday and the dad says workers will be coming in to lay cement in a small section of the backyard. I’m like cool, no prob. The air quality is bad in California anyways so we won’t go outside.

Hours later after the workers put in FRESH cement the 4yo asks to go outside and “look at it.” At the moment I was cutting an apple for the toddler to eat and was like “SURE, GO AHEAD” all the while COMPLETELY forgetting that she’s

1. Four years old and

2. There’s fresh cement outside

So she comes back and says “it was super sticky!” And I’m like

I run outside and there’s three deep footprints in the cement! I literally felt so stupid! Who lets a 4yo outside when there’s fresh cement!?

This bitch, apparently 🤦🏻‍♀️💁🏻‍♀️

So I call the dad and he’s a little upset but says he’ll call the workers to fix it. The 4yo says “I’m really sorry! I thought it was dry!” And she started to cry. I told her “It’s okay girl, mistakes happen. As long as we learn from them, it’s okay.” Then she said she wanted to apologize to the workers in Spanish by saying “Uno Dos Tres” because “they speak Spanish and that’s how you say sorry in Spanish.”
