Nexplanon implant day 2 (this is not sponsored)

For months I have been looking into the Nexplanon 3 year birth control implant. I read online reviews and watched YouTube reviews as well and decided that I wanted to try it! I talked to my doctor and we both agreed that it was the best move and here’s why:

1. I SUCK at taking my pill on time. I’m good for a few packs and then, I don’t know, I just forget and next thing I know I’m a week behind on taking them.

2. I have had irregular periods for years (not just when I forget to take my pill mind you so that didn’t ever help motivate me to take it). Sometimes my periods are short, sometimes long, sometimes heavy and light, and sometimes I just bleed ALL the time 😑

3. I don’t want babies for AT LEAST the next three years. I am 24 and happily engaged. Although sometimes my body make me think that I don’t want babies; I DO NOT...at least for now.

So Nexplanon was the perfect solution! I don’t have to think about it for THREE years! It won’t move like the IUD, it’s the most effective form of birth control and it should🤞🏼 even out my bleeding.

Yesterday I got my implant! And I have to say, it was pretty cool. If you don’t like I.V.s you probably won’t like it because it is a pretty big needle. They numb your arm first and then put the implant in. Next they put a bandaid on the opening and wrap the area with a bandage to keep pressure it. DO NOT TAKE THAT OFF UNTIL THE NEXT DAY!!! The bandage was annoying me so I decided to just take it off and WOW. I got dizzy, hot, and ended up throwing up...it was not fun. I have poor blood circulation so that probably won’t to to everyone but please, keep it in mind! Oh, and no heavy lifting with that arm for a little bit.

Today it’s a little tender but nothing horrible! I’m going to try to keep you updated with “recovery” and any side effects! 💗
