Is this normal?

Right so here’s the thing. I’ve been with my boyfriend for nearly 2 years, we started dating when I was 18 and he’s the first guy I’ve ever had any sexual experiences with, and i’d only kissed two guys before him. Is it normal for me to sometimes feel like I might have missed out by settling down so young? I love him with all my heart but I’m terrified that as we get older and have kids or whatever we could fall out of love and then I’ll regret not making the most of being young and playing the field a little? Hope this makes sense.

The very reason why adults always tell their teens and young adult children NOT to rush into having kids or marriage is because they’ve experienced the same concern that you’re now expressing. I’m not saying leave him, but you have no clue what will become of your relationship in another two years. People fall apart and together often. I wouldn’t assume that you’re destined to be with him or with someone else just yet.

I think it's very normal to feel that way. That's why I always wonder how the girls get married to the guy that took their virginity. IMO especially if you're both virgins, it seems doomed to have some kinda cheating in there somewhere just out of plain natural human curiosity. So I would not do it for me. Now that you're feeling like that, you need to decide what you're going to do about it (talk to your guy honestly, etc).

i completely understand and have just about the exact background wth my boyfriend. he’s been almost my first everything. so i truly understand where you are coming from. personally i struggle with this. but i am open about it. and as much as it may hurt him. it may be best to share with him so if he feels that worry too you both can admit it to one another and hopefully overcome those worries. i worry constantly that i will fall out of love with my boyfriend. but at the end of the day i always recognize that no matter what our love is endless which is why i will do everything in my power to stay in love. we can’t predict the future but it is always kind to share your worries or predicaments of the future especially to your partner :)
