I would make a non emergency police report so you can have documentation if he ever fights for custody and have a police officer escort you to get your things.

He doesn't deserve the text back. He knew what he was doing. That is child neglect at it's finest. If my father's son every tried that, I'd be putting charges over his head. No matter the fight, no matter the situation, children stay out of grown people business. We don't even fight around Kylor because he doesn't need to see that bs and think it's okay. We talk things out and if the situation is too touchy, we don't talk at all. It's not hard to be civil around children
