Implant effectiveness and/or side effects?

So I’ve been meaning to get on birth control for a while now, and after looking up the different types myself along with talking to my doc we decided that the implant would be best for me. Before I start, I wanted to hear some real reviews on it. What do y’all think about implanon/nexplanon? Feel free to share anything!!

I’ve had my implant for almost a year and I’ve been absolutely miserable! I’m getting it taken out next week because I can’t take the side effects anymore. My periods last for 2-5 weeks. They’re much lighter than before but the cramps, mood swings, anxiety and depression I experience from my cycle being so messed up isn’t worth it. I haven’t gotten pregnant. That’s the only upside. I would never recommend the implant to anyone after the year I’ve had.

I’ve had it for 9 months & the only side effects I’ve experienced are spotting and not having a period (haven’t had one in like 8 months which has been great). It’s over 99% effective and lasts 3 years.
Birth Control does affect everyone differently though, a friend of mine got it and has just been bleeding. She bled for 2-3 weeks got a week off then started bleeding again

It stops my periods. After taking a BC break and trying the mini pill (which is too easy to forgot or take late) Im getting it fitted again weds.
The period stopping doesn’t happen for everyone though, my best friend had hers fitted on the same day as I got my 1st one. She continuous light bleeding and had it taken out after 5 months because she couldn’t take no more.
