My husband and I just got the call with our results from the genetic screening (blood test). Down Syndrome and other trisomy’s were negative, but we got a positive for Spina Bifida. It was not a diagnosis by any means, but we got told our chance our baby had Spina Bifida was 1:120. I know those odds are in our favor, but we couldn’t help feeling upset that we didn’t get negatives all around. They referred us to a specific diagnostic clinic to get an in depth ultrasound to determine if the baby is showing any visual signs of Spina Bifida. Has anyone ever gotten false positives on this test before and then had a healthy baby???? I’m trying to stay positive but it’s hard not to feel nervous and upset. Thanks!
