Please don’t comment if you are going to start an argument, but I’m genuinely curious about how abortions are done? I read somewhere that the baby and placenta is cut up into small pieces, then removed. Is that true or is that just a scare tactic made up by Christian groups? I thought you just take a pill? Not considering for myself, but my friend is considering it and she’s 15 weeks. I suggested adoption, but to each their own.

If it’s early enough, there’s a pill you can take to induce a miscarriage. Further along, you’d need a D&C, and in the second trimester, a D&E. If you google those, it’ll explain how they are done. Best of luck to your friend, she must be having a hard time right now. 💗

A. That destiny chick is lying/exaggerating to scare you. She’s rude don’t listen to her. This is a scary enough time for your friend. 
B. 15 weeks might be too far along. 
C. Either a pill form that expels the embryo/fetus or a D&C which is a “vacuum” type procedure that is fairly easy and typical. They do these when you miscarry also, to make sure all of the embryo or fetus is out of your uterus.

If you’re in the US, you’ll get the best information from either Planned Parenthood or the National Abortion Federation. Your friend needs to make a decision and/or an appointment fast. She will run out of time. The procedure gets more complicated the longer she waits.

Dilation and curettage is what the letters stand for. First your civix is dilated then there are instruments inserted into your uterus to remove the pregnancy. Yes it will kill anything it pulls out (in the case of abortions) however this procedure is not just used for abortions. She can do research on “pub med” if she really wants to know the details of the abortion process. and ladies it is not as simple as your making it out to be. Don’t use commentary boards to inform yourself on medical procedures. You will be given opinions, more than medical facts. depending on what pills or procedure you have done, those determine the removal of the fetal tissue. Some cause “natural” expulsion(I.e. uterine contractions) others require a vacuum.

I believe if it’s before 12 weeks then you take 2 pills. 1 to kill the baby and 1 to make your body expel it. At 15 weeks it’s more of a surgery type of procedure. You can look online on what exactly the procedure is on nonbias websites.
