C section moms, how long did you wear your abdominal binder?

How long and when did you wear a binder during your recovery?

Wore it when I was up for the first week then I forgot about it.

I wore it for at least a month. When I didn’t, I felt like my abdomen was about to explode.

wear it as much as possible and for at least a month. Not only does it aid in recovery but also, it helps with recti diastasis. The way I look at it is that it helps "glue" everything back together.

So I was never offered a binder by a nurse asking if I wanted one but, I asked my nurse if I could have one and without hesitation she said sure and went and grabbed one for me. With that said, when my OB checked up on me in the hospital he told me to wear it for the first month or until most of my discomfort had gone away.  I feel like it was impactful for my recovery. I found moving around, getting up, coughing/sneezing, much less painful. It helped with the omg am I going to tear open sensation.  I plan on asking for another one after this c section.
